Welcome to Cape Sedation Services

We are a team providing a specialised sedation service in the Western Cape since 2002. Our doctors are full time sedation specialists. They have formally trained through the University of the Western Cape under the mentorship and guidance of Prof. James Roelofse, world renowned for his groundbreaking work in sedation and head of the post-graduate programme.

We mainly provide a mobile sedation service. Procedural Sedation and Analgesia (PSA) is a safe alternative to general anaesthetic in selected procedures that can be done in procedure rooms, operating theaters, in clinics and in hospitals.

Dr Loots was absolutely wonderful! Please could you also tell him that James was so funny when he got home yesterday, he was totally perplexed about where the magic butterfly had gone and said that there were spiders on his nose. He kept on asking ‘where is that doctor with the magic butterfly?’. In the space of 2 hours, he had eaten macaroni cheese, a chocolate mousse, a banana, popcorn and dried fruit – I told Dr Loots that nothing stops my kid from eating Anyway, James is his usual self today and we are ecstatic with the outcome.
